Single Inspire station with 4-button and encoder
Inspire is a product line of lighting control stations produced and manufactured by Electronic Theatre Controls. The surface texture and curvature is designed to fit slim against the wall without creating any highlights across the surface. This ensures a soft matte appearance that blends into the background when it is not the center of focus.
Single and three-gang variants of the Inspire station
The Inspire project presented a challenge from the perspective of the installer as well. Any wall plate that does not show screws requires a secondary plate that aligns the device or devices and also serves as an attachment point for the cosmetic plate. Current systems require a separate, unique part to match each number of 'ganged' devices. This requires the manufacturer to design and purchase a separate tool for 1, 2, 3, and 4 gang variants and so on.
We decided to go a more efficient route. We developed the small stamped part below out of galvanized steel. This one low-cost part aligns any industry standard device to the one next to it while still remaining hidden beneath the wall plate in a single gang scenario. It also serves as a target for the magnets on the back of the wall plate. ETC was awarded a patent for this system.
