Product summary

The CYC tool is a mobile app offered by ETC for use with their ColorSource CYC fixture, Source Four adapter, and ColorSource adapter. It assists theater technicians in the spacing and setup of floor and truss mounted cyc lights. The photometrics portion of the app allows a theater tech or lighting designer to understand what kind of light coverage and quality they can expect from different arrangements. 

Level tool

The CYC tool allows the user to find the correct angle for the Source Four and ColorSource cyc adapter heads. The red arrow indicates the desired position and the current angle is displayed in the middle of the dial. Because cyc lights can be hung or placed on the stage there is a toggle included in this feature that allows the user to quickly alternate between either position.  

Tool Bar

The tool bar is always visible at the bottom of the screen. It displays the number of fixtures required and their recommended spacing. Swiping up on the tool bar expands the full set of options.

photometrics

The CYC tool makes use of ETC's extensive photometric data. The chart on the screen visualizes light output on the cyclorama wall based on the settings chosen in the toolbar. This aids designers and technicians in understanding the equipment load-out they will need to adequately light their space.
